How much text can a QR code actually hold?
It depends on the content type and error-correction level — roughly 2,950 bytes of raw text at the lowest correction level (L), down to about 1,270 bytes at the highest (H). The capacity bar below the fields shows exactly how much of the current limit your content is using.
What does the error-correction level (L/M/Q/H) actually do?
It controls how much of the code can be damaged, dirty, or covered by a logo and still scan correctly — from about 7% at L up to 30% at H. Higher correction packs more redundancy into the same code, so it holds less usable data at a given size.
Is my WiFi password or contact information sent anywhere when I generate a code?
No. The QR code is drawn entirely in your browser using the qrcode library — nothing you type, whether it's a WiFi password, vCard details, or an email body, is ever uploaded.
Can I scan the WiFi QR code to join a network automatically?
Yes, on most phones. Fill in the network name and password under the WiFi template, and scanning the generated code prompts the phone to connect — no typing required.
Should I download the PNG or the SVG?
